Missions

We at Central Baptist strive to be the presence of Christ
for our community, our state, our country, and our world;
to be the good news of God’s love by our actions and not just our words;
to seek and serve those who are oppressed and marginalized;
to live our lives in light of the divine image placed within each human.

As disciples, we are ever seeking to participate in what God is doing, locally and globally. Opportunities for serving in creative ways abound. For more about any of our mission opportunities, contact Abigail Pratt.

CBC’s Mission Ministries

Broken Loaves Food Ministry
The mission of this food pantry ministry is to provide food to those in living in the Chesterfield County area who are unable for various reasons to obtain sufficient food for themselves or their families. The pantry is open every Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to noon and all clients are referred to us through our ministry partner CCHASM. To seek assistance, please contact CCHASM at 804-796-2749.

Providence School Partnership
In our call to be the presence of Christ toward our community, Central has partnered with Providence Elementary School in Chesterfield County, to provide support for the teachers and students. From school supplies, to reading and classroom volunteers, we are investing in the education and future of our neighbors.

Disaster Response Ministry
This newly developing ministry has grown from the desire to offer ourselves in response for relief from the ongoing catastrophic events of our state our and nation. Resulting from years of mission trips to the Gulfport area following Hurricane Katrina and for the Appalachian area from tornado damages, this group of volunteers are training to expand their assistance to our neighbors in need.

Love-N-Stitches
This quiet ministry of ladies meet on alternate Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. to knit, fellowship, and pray over the shawls in progress. The completed shawls are then offered to individuals who have special needs or callings in their life. Recently, the Love-N-Stitches ladies delivered 66 of these special shawls to the Thomas Johns Cancer Wing of Johnston Willis Hospital.
